Theaters In A Post Covid World

Recommended Posts

With lockdowns still taking place and many of the population not adhering to basic mask wearing or social distancing the movie theater industry is really feeling the effects of the economic downturn. Already Regal Cinemas has announced that they're going to be shutting down all of their theaters until some time in the future.

AMC is still keeping their theaters open with reduced seating while the market has shown there is no large scale major film releases coming in the near future. With titles like Mulan skipping theatrical release entirely and other films being pushed back to sometime in 2021. The long term effects will still be in flux as we continue on into 2021 and how people will think about whether or not returning to the cinemas is worth it when we have streaming providers aplenty. Is it worth the money in dealing with people?
